The devices restore the DC level of the video input, correct for amplitude errors up to ±6dB, detect fault conditions, and filter out-of-band noise. The MAX7450/MAX7451/ MAX7452 optimize the signal quality for further video processing through a crosspoint switch or video decoder (ADC). Each device integrates an input video clamp, automatic gain control (AGC), loss-of-sync (LOS) detector, and an out-of-band noise/lowpass filter. These devices also incorporate a user-selectable buffer gain (0 or +6dB) and an AGC-disable function. The MAX7450 and MAX7451 operate from dual power supplies of ±5V or ±3.3V respectively, and they restore the video blanking level to GND. The MAX7452 operates from a single +5V supply and features a user-adjustable clamp level. The devices are available in an 8-pin SO package with an exposed pad and are specified for operation over the extended (-40°C to +85°C) temperature range.

They also offer low leakage over temperature (INO(OFF) less than 2.5nA at +85°C) and fast switching speeds (tTRANS less than 250ns). The MAX306 is a single-ended 1-of-16 device, and the MAX307 is a differential 2-of-8 device. The MAX306/MAX307 are fabricated with Maxim’s improved 44V silicon-gate process. Design improvements yield extremely low charge injection (less than 10pC) and guarantee electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection greater than 2000V. These muxes operate with a single +5V to +30V supply, or bipolar ±4.5V to ±20V supplies, while retaining TTL/ CMOS-logic input compatibility and fast switching. CMOS inputs provide reduced input loading. These improved parts are plug-in upgrades for the industrystandard DG406, DG407, DG506A, and DG507A.

They are designed on an enhanced LC2MOS process which gives an increased signal handling capability of ±15 V. These switches also feature high switching speeds and low RON. The ADG211A switches are turned on with a logic low on the appropriate control input. Each switch conducts equally well in both directions when ON and each has an input signal range that extends to the supplies. All switches exhibit break-before-make switching action for use in multiplexer applications. Inherent in the design is low charge injection for minimum transients when switching the digital inputs.
